Form Meets Function

Featured in Architectural Record, the oceanfront Gull House in Laguna Beach, is considered a signature Southern California residence.

Working under the guidance of the architect, Wood Art Design's deliverables were to design, fabricate, and deliver a beautiful combination of form and function.

Key to the project's success were interiors and exteriors able with withstand the harsh environment of the ocean front while remaining true works of art.

The Gull House residence is a prime example of the "Total Home" interior and exterior solutions from Wood Art Design.

• Wood Art Design's Gull House project consists of 316L marine grade stainless steel clad rosewood, exterior lift and slide sliders with stainless steel ocean front carriages, custom over sized casement windows, stainless clad rosewood awning, fixed windows systems, and more.
• Staircase, a Lautner Associates custom design, was engineered and fabricated by Wood Art Design and features micro laminated koa wood with 6mm planks, stainless steel hardware, and stainless glass support brackets.
• Installation-ready doors and windows, arriving on site fully finished with all hardware factory tested and pre-installed.
• Three-inch horizontal plank rosewood interior doors with 316L Soss conceal hinges; split jamb systems for easy installation.
• Golden koa T&G plank flooring handpicked to match three-inch rosewood planking on walls, doors and kitchen.
• Custom kitchen features solid three-inch rosewood plank with European beech interiors and outfitted with 316L stainless steel custom drawer sides, and Blum soft close German slide out hinges.
• Master bedroom includes switch on/off "privacy glass" with Wood Art Design's innovative hidden power guide chain for the privacy glass in lift and slide sliding doors.
• Balcony fascia features 316L stainless steel gutter drainage combination glass support system; modular design allows for fast on site installation.
